Blogs - Creating Blog Feeds and Writing Blog Posts

  • Updated

Overview

This guide outlines how to set up a new Blog Feed, create Blog Posts in Edenred Engagement, and shares tips for crafting engaging content.

Requirements

Only Administrators can establish new Blog Feeds. These users are authorized to oversee all Blog Feeds throughout the platform. Other platform members can compose Blog Posts provided they've been assigned appropriate permissions for the specific Blog Feed where they wish to contribute. (Refer to the Blog Permissions Guide for details.)

Setting Up a New Blog Feed

To access existing Blog Feeds or establish a new one:

  1. Go to Account and select Manage blogs:
  2. You can establish a new Blog Feed by selecting create a new blog, or begin composing content within an existing feed. You can also navigate in your existing blogs, and manage the posts by clicking on it.

Blog Feed Administration

After establishing a Blog Feed, from the Manage blogs screen:

  1. Select the Blog Feed name to access it.
  2. Select Blog settings to manage blog visibility, add a description, retrieve the blog's URL, and configure whether the announcement feature should be activated by default for all posts
  3. You can also set a default segment to display the blog only to a specific audience within your organization. See the Segment Management guide or contact your Customer Success Manager or Implementation team for assistance.

Once your blog is set up, select Blog Roles to manage posting permissions for each blog. Refer to this article for guidance on roles.

Composing a New Blog Post

After establishing a blog, the next phase is content creation! Writers can begin composing their blog post from multiple locations:

  1. Via the 'Manage Blogs' Area

For writers who haven't previously published content, a message will display on the main screen when accessing the Manage Blogs area on their platform.
Either of the two green buttons displayed can be selected to begin their initial post:

  2. Via the Blog Feed

Every Blog Feed includes a homepage displaying all published content in reverse chronological order. Users with Administrator, Editor, Blogger, or Contributor permissions will see a green Write a post button in the upper right corner of this feed, which initiates a new post:

  3. Via the 'Mega Menu'

In the Mega Menu (the main navigation bar at the platform's top), users with Blog permissions (Administrator, Editor, Blogger, or Contributor) will find a Write a post option on the menu's right side:

Writing Your Post

After selecting the Write a Post button, one of two situations will occur:

  1. Users with access to only one Blog Feed will be directed straight to the editing interface to begin writing.
  2. Users with access to multiple Blog Feeds will see a selection screen prompting them to choose which blog they want to post in.

After selecting the Blog Feed (or if only one is available), users will reach the editing interface where they can compose their content:
